Our History at the Tidy Towns Competition
Over the years Leighlinbridge has fared well at the national SuperValu Tidy Towns competition. Each year our committee enters the competition by submitting an application outlining our achievements over the previous 12 months. Adjudication takes place between June and September, when two visits will be carried out by judges to check on our progress in relation to our submission. A few weeks after judging is completed, the judging takes place. The judging is fully transparent and we are receive a detailed report back from the judging committee. This is an invaluable document for us, because it allows our committee to take feedback from an expert judging panel about where we need to improve. These reports are published transparently on the tidytowns.ie website.
We are delighted to share our reports with you since 2008 to let you know how we have progressed over the past 9 years. Our website audience and social media followers are largely comprised of local residents. We feel that if you read these reports then it will help bring awareness to our wider community and supporters. As proud Leighlinbridge residents, our committee are thrilled with our progress over the years, but there is nothing like a fresh set of eyes from our local residents to read through these reports and to make contributions. If you have any suggestions or ideas that can help our award submission then please get in touch with us now. We are keen to attract new volunteers and organizers and hopefully this is a great way to get you involved.
